FUTURE SUPPORT NETWORK (FSN) ACTIVITIES

Some of the Activities that we implement include;

In Human Rights:

FSN
  • Conducting sensitization meetings with communities, Schools and traditional leaders to inform them about their rights and how they can fight for their rights when they are violated.
  • Assisting those whose rights have been violated to raise up their ordeals and assist them to fight for justice.
  • Provision of counselling services to victims of violation of human rights.
  • Economic empowerment through vocational trainings and business trainings.
  • Creation of youth clubs where the youth share their experiences and assist each other when one has problems of human rights violation. They also do group businesses like farming and rearing of animals and use the resources to pay school fees for those struggling to pay for their school fees in their groups.
  • Engaging with law enforcers i.e., Police and judges in eradicating cases of human rights violation.
  • Distribution of human rights booklets to primary and secondary schools

In Education;

FSN
  • Ensuring that school dropouts especially girls are enrolled back in school
  • Supporting students who walk long distances to go to school by supporting them with rental fees to be on self-boarding.
  • Provision of vocational trainings to those who dropped out of school and due to age and other factors that are out of control of the victims cannot enroll back in school.
  • Provision of Career talks through role models in primary and secondary school to encourage the youth to stay in school.
  • Improving the school infrastructures through provision of learning materials.
  • Lobbying with parents to ensure that their children are in school.

In Health;

FSN
  • Encouraging expectant mothers especially those with teen pregnancies to go to hospital for medical support.
  • Sensitizing the community on dangers of different diseases and how they can prevent them.
  • Lobbying with the ministry of healthy to bring healthy services closer to people through mobile healthy clinic.
  • Provision of reusable preventive materials like reusable masks and locally made hand sanitizers.
  • Teaching girls how to make reusable sanitary pads.
  • Encouraging the community to practice hygiene in their communities.
  • Sensitizing the youth on how they can prevent sexually transmitted diseases through abstinence.
  • Distribution of heathy booklets in primary and secondary schools.
